Meeting Point: Alekos Fassianos Museum
Off Stream collaborates with Alekos Fassianos Museum for the inclusive participation of persons with sensory impairments in the experience of Art.
Following the great success in 2023, which spanned across ten museums in Greece, the Meeting Points are back, this time at the Alekos Fassianos Museum in Athens!
On Saturday, 2nd of November 2024, the museum became a “meeting point,” where we focused on the artwork “Kafenovioi” by Alekos Fassianos. Together, we explored its features, delved into the history of its creator and through a participatory process, we collectively crafted its creative description. This description we co-created with the audience will soon be available as an inclusive caption in the museum space, next to the original artwork.
The “Meeting Points” public events are addressed equally to adults with and without sensory impairments, offering simultaneous interpretation in Greek Sign Language and other sensory stimuli for a unique and inclusive experience to the artwork.
