Creative Audio Description
Anastasia Fouka’s work “Return Route” is an installation made of natural materials collected by the artist during a walk in the forest after rainfall. It occupies a surface roughly the size of a small table, where the natural materials (pine needles, leaves, bark fragments) are arranged by type, forming distinct sections. The pine seeds form a free-flowing curved line that cuts through these sections of natural materials, like a human path crossing through the forest.
Each walk in the forest is a return to the purest form of ourselves. The natural landscape stimulates the senses and its diversity embodies at once the most complex and simplest form of balance. The piece engages touch, sight, smell and even hearing during tactile exploration, while it evolves over time and with the gradual decomposition of fresh organic materials.
