The Inadequacy of the Senses: An important motivation for inexhaustible artistic creation and experience
Visual artist Dimitris Ameladiotis will speak about the contribution of all sensory functions in the process of shaping a visual artwork, regardless of their physical state. More specifically, he will point out how the deficiency of a sensory function, e.g. partial or total vision loss, contributes significantly and worthily to the creation of a visual artwork, while enhancing the development of another sense,, e.g. touch.
The multi-sensory nature of the artwork brings intuition and empathy as poles of starting and fulfilling the visual process through improvised gestures and endless conceptual associations of thought.
