Museums and Trust: 14th International CoMuseum Conference

Participation in discussion panel | Wednesday 04 December 2024

The 14th International CoMuseum Conference focused on how museums and cultural organisations, as institutions trusted by the public, can contribute to improving people’s lives by addressing the challenges of equitable treatment. The conference explored topics related to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, as well as the significant responsibilities museums undertake, such as fostering diversity and sustainability, adopting repatriation policies and provenance research and combating misinformation.

Stela Anastasaki, Co-Founder, Off Stream, Greece

On Wednesday, December 4, at the Benaki Museum, we had the pleasure of participating in the discussion panel Museums Aiming for Accessibility alongside outstanding professionals such as Annalisa Trasatti from the Museo Tattile Statale Omero in Italy, Charis Ann Gullickson, chief curator at the Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum in Norway and Haroula Chatzinikolaou from the Benaki Museum. The panel was moderated by Tatiana Karapanayioti from the organisation LifeisforAll. Stella Anastasaki, representing Off Stream on the panel, presented our practice, focusing on the Meeting Points project, implemented in 2023 in 10 museums across Greece.

We would like to warmly thank the organisers for the invitation and their trust. You can find detailed information about the conference here:
